StarTrac has produced different versions of the angled Lock N Load cartridges found on the weight stacks of their Impact and Instinct strength machines. There are 3 different generations of the angled cartridges.

Important Note: The Gen3 cartridge has a longer pin preventing it being backwards compatible if replacing a Gen1 or Gen 2 cartridge.

You must replace each version or generation of the Lock N Load cartridge with the same generation on the machine. Knowing the date of manufacture of your machine can help.

  • Gen1 Lock N Load cartridges are on STS Impact models made between April 2007 and April 2008.
  • Gen 2 Lock N Load cartridges are on USA Impact models made between April 2008 and July 2008.
  • Gen3 Lock N Load cartridges are on USA Impact models and All Instinct models made August 2008 to current.
