Star Trac Error Code 6: Speed Sensor

Symptom

"E6" or "Error 6" on the display. Belt may stop or fail to start.

Cause

The speed sensor is not detecting motor rotation. Similar to other treadmill brands, this is typically:

• A failed reed switch or Hall effect sensor
• Magnet missing or displaced on the motor flywheel
• Wiring fault

Fix

1. Locate the speed sensor on the motor assembly.
2. Check the magnet — Verify the magnet on the flywheel is present and properly positioned.
3. Test the sensor — Use a multimeter to check continuity as the magnet passes the sensor.
4. Replace sensor or magnet as needed.
